I might make a reskin of this myself and I'll set it up in a way where you need to be subscribed to this for it to work. Then I won't have to go through the trouble of asking for permission since I'm not stealing anything.

....well....alright i guess. the popularity things still is odd but meh. it's not my job to do research on your shit. its just mixing colors though. that whole decent product thing is silly. if you make a shitty rocket yet it lands and can come back its best to look at the things that made it work in the first place. if people only talked to those who agreed with them than no one will get any where. if you think your doing something impressive fuck it, thats you. i just find it of little value no matter how much work you put in to make a green a slightly darker green.

@EXLUMINATED having no interest in reskins or having your opinion is totally fine. hell, if i could i would disable comments entierly on my addons. and what i mean for the popularity thing is how much your addon actually worth to a common denominator, which is measured in likes and subscriptions. it helps by creating some level of motivation.
if you feel that this type of stuff is not for you then what's the point of commenting here? you could always share your opinion with a group who will understand you and support you, not some random guy's workshop addon.

@EXLUMINATED in the very basic understanding - yes, it is mixing colours. but this addon isn't just about the diffusion texture, it's about creating a set of materials for a specific model from basically nothing. if you actually did research here then you will know that it is not simply mixing colours, it's about understanding the whole procces of art and how to create it. if you went with just photoshop skills and nothing more you wouldn't created anything, because you will lack understanding your's engine limits and capabilities. in this addon, i created\wrote most spec maps, normal maps, lightwarps and .vmt parameters, and comparing this to a basic reskin is like comparing a sketch to a decent product. what you qualify as a bad job is simply not understanding the point of this or how/why this was made. the whole point of this addon, is again, a experiment, or a test of my abilities to bend the engine to my will from the bottom line.

@EXLUMINATED listen, if you have a problem with skins then you should rotate your concern to all this fnaf - swbf2 - halo shit, not stuff like this. the only reason why i even uploaded this to workshop is the automatic sync between it and gmod's api. it's really easy to tell whether your addon is broken or missing something, plus some popularity is nice. the main reason on why i did this addon is an experiment. i was suppose to make something look good with only it's model and diffuse texture. and as you can see i've mostly succeeded. nothing would have changed for me if i was to edit some other model. so, please stop arguing about this useless stuff.

@// it's a limitation of the source engine. its basically impossible to make a custom cbemap that would act like real reflections, like getting dark in dark places unless you use a .vmt that has its alpha texture for the cubemap AND for its normal map in the normal map's .vtf file, but it looks like shit both ways. so if you want to disable it just type mat_specular 0, it will disable the cubemap.
