If it doesn't work that means a mod you already have on is interferring with it as just even two mods that change console commands do NOT work with each other a sad truth about how they made the game engine work.

@Gamer X: you must still have another Console mod on then because when you try to run 2 differnet mods that both run cosole commands it only uses one of them I don't know why but it just doesn't...

There is a similar command that gets rid of those,
But the one I use director_no_mobs 1 leaves the special infected that you need in the campaigns on (like the tank in the train carriage on The Sacrifice map) and also hordes will still appear when alerted by in-game events. It just stop the random swarms of zombies surrounding you every couple of minutes.

I do remeber trying that one but that one also gets rid of tanks that need to spawn for you to finish any campian and certain mobs in custom campians that made it so you couldn't progress so I couldn't use it. And thanks for the rating.

I found director_no_mobs 1 with cheats enabled will stop the random swarms.

@AdApt* I have tried but not matter what code I use I can't seem to get them to turn off. I only want a giant swarm with a very small chance of activating but I haven't ever found out how ot fix it because I will set the code to what it is supposed to be to not have swarms but it doesn't work sorry.

Nice mod though a version without swarms would be good purely because sitting in one spot for a while killing swarms of 20+ zombies gets tedious and slows the gameplay down.

I think its just SV_Cheats 1 but im not sure you can look up a list of all Command Console codes online though and you could just Crtl+f "Cheats" on the page if need be to find the right code.

@Electrikiller like any other mod you go to the mod page in game and check it. If its not turning on I bet you have a mod that is interferring with it meaning that its is also using console commands which for some stupid reason 2 mods can't both have console commands.

@Nightmare Foxy -dev is used to run the game in developer mode which allows you to input console commands. To do it you have to right click the name of the game in the steam library and go to properties. From that page you should see Set Launch Options, click it and it will open up a text field. Type -dev into it and save the properties settings and the game will open in developer mod allowing you to used the Command Console in game by hitting the ~ key.

@HellGhost I have that version called True Classical Single Player that completely removes Speical Infected except the scripted ones and slows down the common infected and makes them almost blind so if you melee one others might not see but if you shot they will know and start heading for you. I also up'd the damage on higher diffculties to simulate older style zombies and also made it so that you needed to get headshots to do any real damage again on higher difficutlies. I'll make a new comment with the link once I get the link.

yeah you could do that and Yes the Removing Speical infected is a command Console mod meaning it can't work with this mod though in this mod I got rid of there speical moves making them just differnet looking normal zombies with variery health.

@HellGhost I also just played it to see if it worked and It worked just fine so I think you might have another mod on that also has console commands which mods that edit console commands DON'T work together they just don't I have tried. I actually learned how to make mods for this game because I wanted to blend togther two mods that I wanted to work together.

And I truely don't know why it didn't work for you. and @Nightmare Foxy you have to use the ~ key but you also have to have it enabled in the options and have -dev in the speical start up options in steam for the game. which you can get to by right clicking the game and going to properties.

oh and just to clear this up campaign be it solo or coop are both the same gamemode in the coding called co-op which is why I put coop in the description sorry.

I'm sorry if its not working for you but im pretty sure just a month ago it worked in solo because for the most part all I play is solo. I would recommend unsubing and resubing to see if it will work after that.

@ mmzxmt101 if you play it on easy or normal its not difficult at all (except the hordes) because they only take 25% less damage for not being a headshot which doesn't do much for most guns except the sniper and they don't have the increased damage I mention before that's only on advanced and expert. again everything would be fixed if I could change plot hordes but sadly I can't for plot hordes, I can change random ones like how many spawn which I did change in classic but I it doesn't overwrite the plot hordes for some reason unknown to me.

Hmm, I don't suppose you could make an edit of that one? I considered that one but I don't like an insane challange so to speak. That'd sound more like a mod for people like me who'd like to play single player as a true solo, but minus a frustration factor unless it's an option. Would that be possible?

@ mmzxmt101 well I do have True Classical Single Player in which is less zombies and they aren't as responsive(e.a. they are basically blind but will respond to sound if close enough) but they do a lot more damage and are only hurt by either a melee weapon or a headshot but are pretty easy when there are just a few but become super deadly when they pack up which ends up making the final stage and plot hordes hard which is why I really wanted to find out how to change it but never could. Basically its the stealth mode of this game which takes the classical approach to zombies and then turns into the super action part at the end which you will mostly end up dying and for me I just see how far I can make it at that point. xD (I think I have only beat the final mission on No Mercy once on advanced with it and it was because of a few lucky time bombs.)

Well phooy. Any other technical lone survivor mods I've seen tend to make the zombies even more difficult. Faster, deal more damage, loads more spawn, crazy stuff like that. Hopefully someone can give you a hand with this in the near future possibly. Take care.

@mmzxmt101 I wish I could and I did try to make it so they would be bearable and not stack by limiting the number of zombies that are allowed to spawn in and the detection range of those zombies but when hordes happen it snaps the game back into its regular spawning rules and I was never able to change how many could actually be on the map at the same time, and I can't change how many spawn in plot hordes because its a thing were they do pluses of spawns not spawning a number of zombies all at one like in a random horde or one alerted by non plot points e.a. cars or staying in an area to long, also as far as I know there is no way to turn off hordes all together without the game crashing or getting stuck at events where hordes are supposed to happen. Again sorry there are many things about this game I wish I had the ability to change but there just aren't commands/parameters to change them. But if anyone does know a work around I would be happy to hear it.

Hello. I was looking around a bit after finding this mod just to see if there were any variations to it, but didn't find one with a particular aspect applied to it. Do you think you can make a version of this mod where the zombie horde alert phase doesn't kick in? Mostly when you're just walking around and not doing the genuine alert triggers, like shooting/touching a car with an active alarm, or doing one of the progression points that make the horde alert.

It's just a suggestion since it seems a bit overwhelming at times when you just manage to finish up one horde suddenly another show up and you can barely progress at times. It is possible to make it through the stages but I'd like the option if huge swarms don't become alerted to me for no reason.

When the game makes your character say a line about the missing members then you know a horde is soon to come.

thats about a simple as I can make it. It happens because of how the game is programmed. So instead think of it as a warning that a horde is about to appear.

I don't know about it, it might just be timing with the game running through its programming loops but I have no idea. Basically what I'm saying is that its not the comment causing it but its singaling that the loop is about to get to a horde. again all a guess.
