Yikes, I'm sorry about that. It's been so long since I've tested my mod I had no idea. I think for now I'll make this mod private until I fix and update everything. Thank you so much for letting me know about this problem!

I seriously love this mod, but I've noticed a major issue in that I think it might be overwriting the spawns of other critters, including limited-time event ones! I'd absolutely adore a version of these fellas that were just decor items too, though. <33

Now that you mention it, I probably could remove the babies. No other collectible creature has a baby version. Plus if you think about it, it's a little mean to catch baby animals .

I like collecting! That's why I got it. It's more just there's so much each day because they aren't part of the normal rotation. Nothing for that really. But I think having a baby of each might be a problem. If you just did one of each I think it'd be better. Do more/different birds instead. They're so cute!
If you ever do get to animate them, should make a Cockatiel or Parakeet or something that does the berb dance. :)

I do plan to animate the birds, I've just been to busy with other things irl to get back to any of my mods. The birds looking like statues instead of living creatures was a perspective I hadn't thought of!

I haven't done a full playthrough of Staxel yet, I barely got to my first winter lol. So there being a lot to collect and the birds just adding to that was something I didn't realize.

I can do something (at some point) about the animations but I'm not sure how I could make collecting the birds feel like less of a hassle. If you have a suggestion for this please let me know. And again, thank you for the feedback !

These are great and cute and they work. But a few caveats. One, I found them kinda out of place since all the bugs and such Move and these do not. Being living creatures it was a little eerie. The author did a great job making these models and I'm not knocking that! But they are more like little bird statues and it kinda felt weird to me.
Additionally, there are even more items out there to pick up each day so you will NEVER have time. Like, you start off into the woods to get bugs and berbs and end up with a full inventory and run back, sell, and go back because there are MORE of course right there on the other side of the merchant, and....
Well you get the picture. It's just too much to collect. I like my bugs. They feel like an extra. A bonus. I wish their spawn hooks varied daily.
But this made them feel like a chore.

Overall, great mod, just not for me.

Oh really? I didn't think it would since when I tested it it seemed other things spawned fine. When I can, I'll tweak the spawn rates to be lower. Especially for the ducks. Thanks for letting me know!

Does this mod interfere with spawn rates at all? I started a new world with this mod a while ago, it seems there's a significant drop in the amount of insects and star jellies that spawn. I'm not sure if it's just luck or if the birds spawning is preventing other things from spawning. There's ALOT of birds, like over 100 on the map each day.

OK everyone! As of today I am not taking suggestions for birds to add in! I will open them back up at some point but I will not take any more right now. Why?

1: I'm too busy with school currently to add more birds in,
2: I have other mods in the works (not even published!) but have been too busy to continue on,
3: I have other projects outside of Staxel and modding that are more important to work on.

School has been taking all of my time lately so I haven't been able to work on anything besides school. Once I finish my schoolwork, I just want to relax. This mod WILL get future updates, I just can't worry about it right now. So for the time being, just enjoy what is currently there and please report any problems you may have experienced in the mod so when I do finally update the mod, I fix any problems.

@vicioushobbit peacock and bower bird were added to the list. I can't add all of your suggestions to my list right now since I don't want to overwhelm myself and right now I'm super busy with school. I haven't even fixed the duck spawning problem because I'm too busy with school. So after I add these two birds I'm closing suggestions until I finish what's on the list.

Once I finish the list, I'll look at the comments and do those first and then open the suggestions back up. Also, I'm not sure if I would add a birdhouse for them to spawn on. It would look weird for the player to catch the bird and house. But I do plan to (not on the list atm) make a birdcage to display the birds on so I could probably do a birdhouse too.

@TheRaptorChicken Pheasants were added to the list and about making the birds more common; I don't think I will because the more birds I add the more kinds of birds you will see. If I make all the current and to be added birds spawn more they'd be as common as the ducks in the ocean right now (I will fix that) which is way too many. I want the player to explore and find the birds. Thank you for the suggestion :).

Canadian goose, Albatross, Bower bird, peacock, red wing blackbird, European Starling...

I'd love to see the Bower bird be the size of a hummingbird, with the Tile that he stands on also showing his little house...they are freaking awesome.

i would like pheasants or grouse to be added, but can you please make it to where birds are easier to find? in real life they'd be in every corner. So can you please make them more common? I would really appreciate it...

All three birds are added to the list! I have a lot of things coming up so I'm not even sure when I'll be able to get back to this mod and work on it. I'm already working on another mod and that has to be put on hold too due to my upcoming things. They will be added at some point, I just don't know when.

Could you try adding in Australian Galah's and Cockatoos? It would be nice to have my own galah in my home in Staxel, as well as real life :)

Please keep in mind I have a list of other mods to make, two old mods on the to-do to update, and schoolwork. So this bird and others won't be added super fast but they will at some point.

yep, just caught over 150 ducks in about 15 minutes time

I love this mod, I always heard birds in the ambient sounds and felt they were missing from the game. Well... they're not missing anymore. Sweet Gaia, they're bloody everywhere x'D
