Please put a packageId inside of About.xml, as the lack of one causes compatibility/loading problems.

I don't know either. I typically run about 130 mods myself, and I haven't encountered the issue. Best thing I could ask for from your side would be to disable about half the mods and see if it disappears, if it still does, disable half the rest until it doesn't. Then re-enable half of the last batch. Doing that, you can figure out which mod is conflicting pretty fast. Obviously, don't save the game or anything while experimenting.

It could even be the load order.

so far ive ony used Replace Stuff on walls
but i wonder why only ur heater vanishes?
then again i havent tried building every single thing in the game yet since installing Replace Stuff last week so i dunno

I use AllowTool, so I doubt that, but maybe ReplaceStuff. I doubt QualityBuilder would affect it.

Hmm, I've run with a lot of mods myself, including a bone mod, and one that add extra stuffs as well. I'll do some testing on my end.

maybe mods that add furniture?
i have those lord of the rings mods by jecrel so ive been making dwarven furniture.
what about mods that effect building meterials? i have stuffed floors and a bone mod tho i used steel when building the heater.
maybe it was a 1 off glitch. ill try building another 1 and see if it happens again

The power (on/off) switch was causing issues. I would like to restore this functionality. I do not yet have a working solution.

For those wondering, I've modified this for the upcoming 1.0 patch and the heater no longer produces heat when out of fuel. I don't know how to post that file without overwriting this one, so I'm holding off on publishing the update until I find out how to do the update as a seperate mod, or 1.0 comes out.

@Example3, I usually run with minify everything, so I don't see that issue. I'll look into that too as I'm trying to figure out how to make it stop heating when it runs out of fuel.

Also, I'd add that where it looks like what you want the fueled heater to be a lower investment way of producing heat, since it produces more heat while requiring 1/2 as much steel and no components to build. IRL it's kinda the opposite. Heating with natural gas is probably 2.5x as energy efficient as using an electric heater, but they cost more. It's the opposite with lighting.

Yeah, turning the heater off doesn't actually stop it from producing heat for me either. Reddist heat has the same bug.

A heater produces as much heat as a campfire. The heater requires 100 power, when on high, and a chemfuel generator produces 1000 power, at 4 chemfuel per day. 1 unit of chemfuel produces 250W/day.

If I'm correct, the fueled heater requires 6 chemfuel per day. I'd double check my math, but that makes the fueled heater 9x less efficient than using a fueled generator to power a heater.

So, to be equivalent to the games efficiency, perhaps the fueled heater should consume 2/3 chemfuel per day, and the fueled lamp 3/10 chemfuel per day. Of course, part of what's going on here is that the chemfuel generator in B18 is probably OP.

I found some bugs
1. After turning off the heater, it heats and continues to consume fuel.
2. After the fuel runs out, the heater continues to heat.
3. Kerosene lamps continue to consume fuel after shutdown, but do not lighting

@Employee 432, well it isn't as inefficient as I first thought. For instance, the campfire has a heat output of 21, and the powered heater has an energy output of 21, but no explicit heat output. From playtesting I think the powered heater puts out considerably less heat than a campfire, but I'm still doing testing on that. The Chemfuled heater (this mods) puts out 35 heat, so quite a bit more than the campfire. In addition, it uses less resources than the campfire. As to how many powered heaters are equivalent, I don't know, but the chemfuel heater uses up a little less fuel than a single chemfueled generator. So, it may need some tweaking, but less than I initially thought.

Great, I'd definetly use it if it was economical. It would be useful as an alternative to powered heaters, to avoid freezing during solar flares. Maybe a more efficient 2x2 version?

@Employee 432 Good questions. Currently it is less efficient than using a generator to power a heater. I think I'll change that once I decide on what the efficiency should be. This will likely affect the lamp settings as well.

@Lugaru There is a mod that adds the ability to make your own pools. I know that isn't what you mean, but it's close technically. It's called fuel traps or something. Let me look it up....

Great followup to the Lamp.

What we need now is surface pools of Chemfuel on extreme maps (desert, frozen) and this plus the lamp will feel like a very nice technological step.
