And also, I don't think it's necessary to design a whole MvM map in a day, but to try and come up with interesting ideas for maps or other parts of the mode, which can be interesting, fun, or even challenging. Of course I don't think any body expects for just one person to make a game within a month, but I think brainstorming ideas (maybe even with other people of similar minds) wouldn't hurt at all.

Honestly, I could see a new MVM update that adds new war paints for the more common rewards, and a new line of australiums for the bigger rewards.

Shade, I can understand what you are saying, that there shouldn't be any restrictions to expand upon certain categories of items because that limits creativity. I mean recently I saw a submission for a whole new (and possible) genre of weapons that a class could access which goes way back to when things like the Huntsman or Chargin' Targe were added (the thing I am talking about is the Heavy shield). The thing is that I feel like it's a little bit more strange to add these types of items in a community sense because it would be associated with an idea that didn't really have both the opportunity or intention to be extremely creative or flexible with it. You see what I am trying to say?

@Scruffel- If you want us, some common every day gamers, to design an entire mvm update, I'm sorry but the odds are against you. These weapons are meant only to be a part of the whole. Nonetheless, every little bit helps, as the saying goes.

I understand you guys want to put more attention to a series of updates that somewhat died off, and it's completely understandable too. Even though I am not that much of an MvM person myself, it would have still be nice to see a new wave of MvM content as well with other content. The thing is that there needs to be a lot more than reskinned weapons, and more about what could be done to change or make the whole mode more interesting and fun. I can only really say is good luck and more power to you.

Also, Zuko, that's why I said "that haven't really been seen before". The Golden Wrench was a single item during a no-longer accessible event with a very few range of existing ones to this day.

And I go back to my previous point. Any person with common sense should be capable of putting 2 and 2 together on what these are for, with or without the video.

@Scruffel- You speak as if it is wrong for people to be creative and submit desired skins. I can respect your feedback, but take a moment to hear me out. Valve didn't make, say, jungle inferno skins for all of the same weapons as australiums. Stat-wise, there is no bias. With that, is it wrong to expand upon a "category" of weapons? Even if these particular skins are not accepted, others might be in the future. Why? Because australiums are a much desired "category" of skins. There's a certain prestige to obtaining your very own australium, and expanding upon the weapons that can be awarded in australium form only strengthens their appeal to users of those weapons.

Also the whole point of wanting to bring more attention to MvM content, is a little jaded. There is no real mention of this sort of thing in the descriptions, I guess somewhat vaguely in the Saxxy video. In general you guys didn't start off with this whole mission to resurrect MvM on an interesting foot.

Because all I really see is right now is shiny new weapons; not new MvM maps that add new ways to fight robots or interact with environments, no new wave types or crazy new robot ideas (which btw the flying robot idea could be interesting), or anything that expresses a surge of creativity. I feel like you guys focused too much on what a community would like to see (which I guess is expensive weapons) and less on what the community will interact with and have fun with.

Obviously because of the fact that the implementing of Community War Paints in-game starting becoming a thing, people started getting creative with what they wanted to do in order to present in that in the same fashion. The problem with these skins is that these are based of a series of skins that Valve release under a very specific category, ones that weren't meant to be community created. Of course that could have been said with Gun Mettle skins and such, but the thing is that Valve saw how people were getting really creative with the idea of weapon skins, so they decided to finally implement War Paints.

Zuko, at the time Australium Weapons were original not because the were just gold variants of stock and unlock weapons, but more because of the fact that they were a unique category of items that haven't really been seen before in TF2 (besides Festives and Botkillers which were themed).

You mean like Valve did for 2 Cities? Yeah, those were original too, huh?

Do yourself a favor before you make more of a fool of yourself. Google "tf2 more australiums" and you'll be greeted with pages of people asking for more australiums to be added and videos of people speculating what weapons should be made into australiums next. There is a large chunk of the community that wants more MVM updates and more australiums, so any person with any common sense should be capable of understanding "what the point is" in these skins. They have as much point as any other skin or hat in the game. It's player personalization.

So, are the past few updates, centered around weapon skins, to be discredited? Much of the community workshop consists of skins/reskins. These are popular items, and hopefully will give more incentive to focus on MVM content.

Also if you wanted to provide some MVM content, maybe something more than just Gold versions of already existing weapons would be more efficient?
