i believe they are only openable from one side, but this is an older map so im not 100% on all intentions, cool to see it still being used for hl2rp though

Only problem is the doors leading to the nexus courtyard area don't open but not a big deal since you can just remove them. otherwise a very cool map. Running it on my server, come check it out. Resonance Cascade HL2RP 143.244.36.152

0 I've been having this pink purple reflection problem, so type mat_specular in the console to fix it, it will take time, if you freeze, just wait for it to get the textures back [ mat_specular ] :demoticon:

The overall architecture of the map is very believable (shapes of the metal structures & prison, mini citadel nearby). The size of the map is great for now, I think you should focus on the following: If you could just add a little more detail, say, make the xen-ground textures at a smaller scale inside the prison so they aren't giant and blurry, and work on more realistic interiors for some of the buildings, this map will live up to its full potential. I know it's still a WIP, loving it so far!

I like how there are rebels in hide away places.
It really shows how the resistance is still willing to fight even tho they are off their home world/earth and still want to take combine occupied areas.

I'm planning to expand the scope of this map concept with BMS Xen Assets. However that won't be for a few months now as I am focusing on other things. Stay tuned though.

There's a key in one of the vorticells, which is the little cells that contain the Vortigaunts, break open the window of the one that contains the key and take it to a hidden portal island with some parkour elements and place the key into the pedestal, this will activate the rest of the map - Since this map was designed with a unique RP kind of way - Thinking that escaping the prison with the right materials would be a hard thing to do.

Maybe not gamebreaking but almost unplayable. The frames drop drastically from a 60+FPS to around 10.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound conceded. I'm just saying, this PC has gotten me through a lot of other performance heavy games with little fault. This seems to be a running theme with some RP maps.

I was toying around with some Displacements and such, and I think the problem is the displacements themselves, since this map is using alot of displacements it can have an impact on performance, therefore decreasing some FPS. I can run this map about 60 in a certain area and about 30 to 40 in a certain area. Displacements are unable to be optimized unless you decrease it's Power, This map uses Power 3 to 4 Displacements which have the highest detail, 1 and 2 will show up as jaggedy boxes, There was no way I could solve this issue.

I gotta say, good map, but there's something in the game that is making MY high-end gaming PC slow to a crawl by just looking at it. The frames are so inconsistant. I can be looking in another direction and it's a silky 60. But then I look at the combine base and my frames get ANNIHILATED

No, this is a seperate map from dim2532 Version 2. As that map was the original starting point of this whole fan map series, they are not set in the same location as is explained within the Lore Explanations of the maps.
