My last post was unclear. I did manage to open the gate and believe it was from the room with 2 levers.
So, yes it does work, just gotta locate the secrets :) Very enjoyable after I found my error.

This map was created four years ago.
I don't remember the dynamics exactly, I haven't played this game in a long time.
I just remember that it worked perfectly, I will try to play it again to be able to remember.

Revisited, the exit is behind a door you can't open. It opens from a remote location, (the room with two levers?)

5 magic pots, 3000 plus gold, 30 rooms cleared, and no exit found? Frustrated here too!

I played this for 40 minutes without encountering any kind of ending. I eventually just quit out of frustration.
