TheWanderingBard I agree but I think there is a catch the map maker doesn't know about yet. I think SteelRaven has a slight cheat going in the game where certain objects to keep overhead down are not "objects" in the traditional sense for rendering purposes. The trees in this map for example. They are not "solid" because they are not "objects." What seems to be SteelRavens "fix" (holy crapping air quotes Batman) is to add clipping planes around each of these types of elements. *Sry message was too long for steam to do one post.
If you have ever seen the bullet impacts floating just a bit off the surface or even on the outside of things this is a hint this is being done. Since the map maker hasn't added those clipping planes to each tree element the bots can see and shoot through them. I laughed when I realized I could drive my tank right through all the trees. That said the trees could be a slight bit less dense and still be really nice. One thing right now is if the clipping planes were added to the trees bigger vehicles like tanks would be useless unless the density was backed off a bit and wider paths made for larger vehicles.
