Where do we find it in game? There's not really any details in the description. I installed the mod, installed the game, made a new game, and when I go to customise my soldiers, its just the exact same default options you get with vanilla. Do I need to research something first? Does it not apply to the starting armour, but one of the others? I have the base game, not wotc.

This mod only works with base game and not WOTC for some reason despite it working with it in the past

I know about the fix for using this mod with higher level armors but that only seems to work for windows, I've been messing around with my files but it hasn't been working, anyone have any pointers?

This mod does still work with the solutions described below, but if you're still not seeing it and have tried everything, ensure you don't have UnrestrictedCustomization. That was my problem

To use these with armors above kevlar, the solution Knightsofdei mentioned in 2020 a few pages down still works.

How is it that this remains the only source of Imperial Guard armor? Is this even being supported anymore?

It only works on basic (kevlar) armor, can't use mod more when armors are upgraded. only helmets are avaliable. must fix.

I've tested plate armor, and your fix seems to have worked quite well so far.

For clarity, I'm using this mod alongside the Armours of the Imperium mods in a Long War of the Chosen game.

What mod did you use to have so many soldiers?

Working in WOTC (using AML) with 542 other mods. Requires config edits to appear for armor upgrades beyond starting Kevlar.

It's a shame there's no WoTC compatibility

Mod's working fine for me except I can't change the color of the backpack on the 4th flak vest. I can change the color of the actual armor but the backpack stays green no matter what.

Returning to XCOM 2, this mod among others stopped working for me all together and seemingly were failing to load with the stock launcher. The armour found in this mod was not appearing on any armour tier when I went to customise my Soldiers, but after using the below solution with OneMillionColours to return the missing slider on that mod, I thought I'd try it on this to restore the IG armour and it worked.

Go to X:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1312608118
Open ImperialGuard40kHelmetsmod.XComMod with Notepad
Add RequiresXPACK=true at the bottom and save.

This re-enabled the armour found in this mod for me when customising the standard kevlar armour, I haven't tested this with higher tiers of armour yet however.

Hope this helps someone, and also of note this solution has worked now on at least 4 seperate mods for me to get them to load were they appeared to be broken, so it's got some wider use to try out when troubleshooting "out of date" mods.

It's a shame to see the only Imperial Guard armour mod stop working.

the mod is no out of date and will not work for wotc

Important note, I put "C:\program file (x86) in hard brackets because that is just where I have my steam files saved, and you will have to check wherever you told steam to save things on your computer. If you try and copy-paste it into your file explorer it won't work unless you remove the hard brackets first.

The problem is that the mod by default only has the armors all marked as "KevlarArmor" in the ini, and haven't been copy-pasted for the light, medium, and heavy variants of plated and powered armor.
I went in and fixed it for myself this afternoon, and so now it worked when I tested it.
Just go to [C:\program files (x85)]\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1312608118\Config

And then back up the original "XcomContent.ini" file and replace it with the one you can download from this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m5Fl5ab6ikzlRlIvIyY4YV8OybnLJIyb/view?usp=sharing

That should enable each of the armors for every tier of armor and to use with special armors.

(PS, IronGroin, if you just replace the file in the mod, it should fix the issue for everyone, and feel free to edit it however or test it first too.)

I don't know if this is common but I just researched the Predator armor and now I can't use the guardsmen armour. It doesn't show up in the menu.

there is a tweek I found, go to the ini file for this mod and add "RequireXPACK=true" to it works on most mods

So as far as I know I have all the required mods to ensure that this one works, however, when I go into the creation pool or even the customization in-game, your armors don't appear. I also Found out that using and alternate launcher fixes the issue, so if y'all want to use mods like this that are broken by the new launcher, try looking for a fanmade one, this will fix the issue.

It's a real shame this mod does not (or not longer) works for WOTC, i really wanted to use this mod to equip all my recruits with these armors, sad to see it going to waste.

Nvm, found out why, your mod isnt compatible with WOTC, therefor the newer launcher registers it as a non-compatible mod, IE the new launcher is shit and wont load the mod

Did the armor change from cosmetics to an actual researchable armor? or is something wrong with my X-COM
