@Oatmeal God "I do not know the names of most of these artists" that's the issue I have too.

The mod was created by Thursasprengir, but they didn't credit the artists so I don't really have a way to track them down. Alex Riese has explicitly given me permission to use their art in a non-monetized form, but the other artists are very difficult to track down

The majority if not all of the added species are from various talanted worldbuilders and I find it upsetting that non of them are getting credit. The person who this guy is crediting did not create the majority of these drawings. The ones that aren't animated are quite literally just cropped images from actual spec evo worldbuilding projects like the Birrin project. I do not know the names of most of these artists but I have seen their works before long before this mod was even released. The one I do recognize is Alex Riese who created the Birrin project of which the image is stolen from. In fact I recognize a few other ones from this guy in this mod.

Updated to 3.14, and I merged two of the "Nudimusculi" and "Nerokatoides" categories into Necroids and Aquatic respectively

This mod causes issues with Plantoids. I've noticed the mod only adds to the vanilla species and to Plantoids as Lithoids, Necroids, and Aquatics are unaffected. My guess is the mod just isn't updated (obviously) and it's causing some incompatibilities with Plantoids since Paradox updated some stuff with the Plantoids not too long ago.

I love this mod but don't want to have the new empires. Can you make a lite version without them please?

This is a massively underrated mod - it contains a huge number of portraits, including many of which that are truly alien. Whilst not all are top class, a large proportion are, and it ts genuinely worth a try.

Any plans on updating this?

Worth pointing out that the mod simply doesn't have a supported version set, so the launcher will always flag it as outdated. Nothing but time is lost in testing mods you're not sure are up to date to find out.

I wish i could use it, but it does not seem to be compatible with the current version :(
