To get it to work I subscribed to the mod.
Launched Staxel which said it couldn't run due to missing files.
Verified the files and re-obtained them.
Booted the mod tool and ran the Content Builder with Validation checks.
Then ran the game and it worked.
I've done this with 3 different computers each running different versions of Windows.
I hope this helps others having problems running it.

Anyways, it is actually fine by me either way, since I mainly wanted an Avian race in the game regardless of whoever made it. I wouldn't be at a loss with my progress, since I've learned quite a lot by working on it. I do look forward to seeing how this mod develops in the future, I am very impressed by the level of detail in your work - namely in the floran hairstyles.

I plan to add all races in Starbound to my mod, except for Humans.
@Freelancin Thanks for the offer, but no thanks because I've been working on Avians and I'll feel sorry if I modify your work.
As I commented earlier, I'd actually be willing to contribute my current progress towards this mod if Asatsuki is interested. There would be issues with doing that however, since he made sure to keep his models compatible with base hairstyles - I changed the headshape for the Aevins, so there's a slight incompatibility.
I'll update my profile's screenshots with examples.
One thing I do think I got right so far are the avian feet and the head shape, but I'm terrible with shading otherwise.
If you want the qb files and palettes I got so far for my avian models, I'll be in touch. I'm incredibly nervous to release a mod at this point since I don't feel like I've finished.
I use Qubicle for my voxel modelling, so it won't have a lot of the issues that come with VoxelShop.
