This seems to be a floating point issue (the numbers are too large) and we have no solution to it.

Antimatter Anihillation fuel will crash the game when you raise the stoichiometric ratio above 0.43~ which makes it pitifully weak compared to fusion thrusters simply because you cannot get anywhere close to the optimal ratio ( 1:1 )

@Kazusa: 9 on the picture is the thrust, 1 point should equal to something around 2,5 km/s Δv. 1/4 is fuel consumption, problem is that the value of one point changes according to ship weigth, so it can mean anything from 4 tonnes to 80 tonnes of fuel. However, consumption of 1/4 is rather low.

Yes. Any material that has a reaction definition where it is the sole reactant is auto-flagged as an explosive hazard by the game.

deuterium monopropellant explodes catastrophically and vaporizes anything in a battlefield. Is this because its treated as a volatile fuel?

In steamapps\workshop\content\476530 i see more folders. Maybe you mean 1282438061 folder in? And in this folder i see data and textures what i want copy??

Because it doesn't have a reaction defined where it is the only reactant.

To add this, you would need to define a product of that reaction and the game would need to detect it correctly as a valid reaction. This is a bit difficult with the weird material properties used to trick the game into producing the desired results for things like antimatter.

As a modder I have personally kept to conventional materials, so I can't offer knowledge specific to the futuristic stuff. For advice on modding with these types of materials, you would do best to contact the creator of most of them, The Astronomer [childrenofadeadearth.boards.net], on the other forum [childrenofadeadearth.boards.net].

@Danny2465 you can create your own fuel tanks using the module editor, unlocked by going to the main menu -> Infolinks -> Unlocking Content and mods (only if you have not completed the missions yet)

I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but using D-D fusion drive in a missile (because why the hell not?) can result in a very spectaculary detonation when the fuel tank explode.

Just a little bug I found while trying to be cheeky with the electrons.

The game crashes if you try to use electrons as propellent in resistojets and NTRs. It isn't a massive deal since electrons would have all the problems of hydrogen but amplified even further.

Oddly enough though, the game is perfectly fine with using electrons in MPDs. I don't recommend it unless you actively enjoy having significantly more mass in the walls of your fuel tanks than they carry in fuel but they do get good exhust velocity, couple hundred Mm/s. (DeltaV sucks still because mass issue and it took a good few hours of fiddling to get power usage low enough)



I tried messing with some things to fix the bug myself, but from what I can tell electrons aren't missing any data in the materials files compared to other propellants so I am a bit lost. Could be that the molar mass being < 1 just causes a div by 0 somewhere in the calculations.

The Game does not treat Orion drive as an engine.(As far as I experiment)ANY momentum caused by orion drive will be erase when you return to trajectory map.

Relatedly, I think the fusion reactions might be a *bit* overtuned. While its actual thrust characteristics were fairly reasonable, around 3 MN, I made a fusion engine which produced *over ten times the total energy output of the sun* as waste heat.

So uh. That's an issue.

Meanwhile, I couldn't actually test M/AM reactions, because it crashes the game.

To be fair to the game, the reason it doesn't include such things is that their performance is much harder to predict than materials and technology that currently exists.
