Please read the comment below that I have posted. This may be the issue. The reason I am not changing the Single Player death sound is because it's only five seconds long and then you respawn. So there is no point implementing the sound into the Single Player if you can't hear the delicious music.

The reason that it may not work for you is that the death sound only goes off in Multiplayer and not Single Player, which plays a different sound. If this is not the source of the problem please let me know.
