It shouldn't need snd_restart, it's just pretty rare. Make sure you aren't subbed to any conflicting mods.

the audio quality is unreliable as well, i suggest you do some touch-up on those. A wee bit of noise reduction and some peek normalization would help.

then again maybe it is a design choice that you made it this way, hence, unreliable.
