also will this mod allow me to dial down the durability of trees?
i keep finding that my foresters are always dying of starvation or hypothermia just because they spend far too long trying to cut down a single tree..

I like it. The animals aren't a problem with Francia. If you need more density, make it.
I haven't tried the others, but since the concern with a lot of people was about Francia's animals, I note that I had no difficulty with progression in Francia's environment.
