To those who are confused: The Charger in the beta was a yellow hunter (as a placeholder for the current Charger).

To everyone confused, this was a placeholder model for the charger whilst the team was developing the retail model for the charger that we see today in the game.

Before the Charger's design was finalized, it used a re-skinned Hunter model so that the team could test out how the Charger would play while the art team was designing it. When the Charger design was finished, as like any other Infected, they recorded temporary sounds. The Charger's temporary warning call was "AY! AY! AY!", as said in the Developer's Commentary.

To clear up confusion, in testing for l4d2 the charger didn't have it's model, so for the time being they re-skinned a hunter and used it's model for testing

After the the success of his #1 hit single "Chargin' in the '80s", the Beta Charger seemingly vanished from exiatance, and from the looks of it, was never to be seen again. But he forever lives in in the hearts of die-hard fans.

For the people who don't understand, this skin is based of the filler model for the charger that was nothing but a reskined hunter when valve what testing it.This mod replaces the l4d2 hunter with the l4d1 hunter's model + the reskinned jacket.

Nice, finding that Chargers origonally had Re-used the hunter model with a new skin and then making it a skin.
