Civ VI's narrator is very annoying and the Civ V narrator mod doesn't totally replace his quotes so I thank you a lot

the writing of the tech quotes (and the civilopedia, but thats more easily ignored) are by far the worst part of civ 6, thank you so much for making this mod to fix it

I don't usually comment on mods, but I felt compelled to do so for this one. Civ V was my intro to the series, and I loved, as a historian, the diversity and weight of the tech/wonder quotes in that game; they were clearly picked by well-read people, or people who respect the well-read. I've wanted to play Civ VI for a while, but couldn't get past the smug, sarcastic writing. Civ as a series is at its best when it pays due reverence to history and human achievement--self-satisfied or outrightly-ignorant quotes from bloggers and actors ruin the experience and spirit of the franchise. I cannot be happier that this mod exists--thank you so much!

Hey I saw someone else posted this in the Typos, Bugs, Suggestions thread back in December, but I'd like to add it here: There is a broken quote for the Replaceable Parts tech that just displays as MOD_SC_TECH_REPLACEABLE_PARTS_QUOTE_X

I'm so glad this exists. I started googling to see if other people hated the tech quotes after about 50 turns in my first game. I'm actually enjoying this Civ now that I've finally gotten around to it, but the poor taste showed in selecting the damn quotes is so pervasive and vexing it just.... well, it warrants a longer rant than I want to type. Thanks :)

@risinbela - I removed many of the quotes that were negative/defeatist/sarcastic (like the one for Ruhr Valley). Looking at the source, the quote for the Great Library in Civ is cut off part-way through, so I might bring it back with its full context.

@josearte777 - Not too bad! You'd just want to look at the SC Quote Text.xml file within the mod and only change the stuff between the quotes basically. I can also maybe see about getting a GoogleDoc or something similar set up if that'd be preferable.

To save some searching through files, the subfolder for this mod (at least in my setup) is 1226909609 so the relative path you want (if you want to re-enable default narration) is: steamapps\workshop\content\289070\1226909609\Core\config.sql

@WhackMyScak - You'd need to go to the Mods folder, which should be something like Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070; find the folder for this mod, and then open up the Config.sql file. Change the '0' to a '1' where indicated and it should enable the Sean Bean quotes were applicable.

Should now be compatible with the slight changes made by the Late Antarctic Summer patch that made Wonder movies not show up.
