There are ways to extract real earth land maps and pull them into CS, but no way to clear content from a saved game without bulldozing and no way to recover a gave if say a mod like Traffic ++ was used and you removed Traffic ++. The Mod has to be designed to work in the editor and I understand some are, but again the editors to always make sense in their limitations.

A totally unrelated question:

Is there any way to extract the map from a saved game?
I want to make a map and all the disasters that came out of that DLC would be very useful for random terraforming<sp> instead of trying to create all the pseudo randomize myself.
So if I can start a game and used all the mods in the game, I think it would be much easier than trying to do it in the map editor.
Unless mods designed for game use can be also used in the editor.
But from all my reading from the different comments where people have complained about the lack of functionality of the editor, guessing they can't.

Never assume but do make an semi-educated guess now and then.

Ah, but it is people like you whom make asset builders better with each attempt.

The concept is that not every one will want the one version, but will love the next... example the Clinic is doing far better than the Lab... So not just lazy :)......Now I will have to rebuild the night club which does at least have a sign and it's own story.

DejaVu, I understand and like the repurposing idea. Haven't tried it yet but hopefully some random spotlight colours are being used on the nightclub to distinguish it from the other two.
