Because you're restricted to the length the original audio files. One is 0:52 and the other is 1:18.

Valve Developer Community has lots of good tutorials. This is the one I used to learn about sound mods: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/L4D2_Custom_Sound_and_Music_Tutorial

If you don't have any sound editing software Audacity is a great free one that I use.

If you need any help with Audacity there are TONS of tutorials on youtube.

I love this, but I found an amazing guitar cover of the battle of lil slugger and was wanting to add it, I am utterly useless with this kind of stuff but I wanted to know how I can make it into an addon (so I can easily turn it on and off in game)
