My toon was doing great and then decided to swim out into the ocean and drown. I can share the save file if the @dev is interested.

My character just runs around doing random stuff, of which doesn't progress or do anything but seemingly eat and drink on repeat. Makes limitless campfires and what looks to be walls or something.

Reaaaally cool mod, even though survival mode definitely still has some quirks.. the one hanging me up currently is TARS keeps getting stuck idling trying to acquire water from a solar still.

Note as well that period doesn't appear to be default key to enable/disable mod, on my setup it defaulted to the 'Pause' key. To open the mod's full HUD with options the key defaulted to 'Home' for me as well.

question...? my guy has been set to survival mode and has been in a loop for 2 irl hrs trying to acquire 'curePoison' . trips to the kiln and shallow water just on repeat and he never acquires anything. i've restarted, tars on/off...assigned different tasks etc but as soon as i set it back to 'survival' he starts trying to acquire the cure poison, whatever that is ..i couldn't even find an item like it on the wiki. any help is appreciated, thank you!

How might we tone the tars down, it moves and wander, or gathers at a pace way way faster than we play. Seems to work well i just dont know how it can be slowed downt o move at our pace

Of all the Wayward mods this is "the" mod, useful for when you are lazy about doing some repetitive tasks or just to pass time watching it doing its things, but i think i found a bug, if you instruct to make or get a doodle it does not make a new one just looks for the closest one and takes it, and this is actually great, but not so much when you want another doodle of something you already have (you can't just have one dripstone, for example) and when you are with TARS in survival and the AI decides that is time for another dripstone it just picks up the closes one and places it until the dripstone has no durability left, so... can you modify to search for doodles wich the player did not place?

Just watched this thing wander around, build up -9000 malignity by deforesting a bunch and getting torn up by a coyote. 10/10 genuinely fascinating to watch!

Yeah it's no longer working for me, can't open the UI for it, the icon is in the top left of my screen but there is no way to actually use it anymore.

Thank You! This is an amazing plugin! I play like 30% of the time and it does everything else. passably 40% ...

so i spawned a second Tars, Idk maybe I has Potato pc but second Tars makes it really slow, Really Really Slow. so i removed it and it didn't stop he lag .
I was using the debug mod todo so , it gave feature to Spawn a "tars" .

Started it up with a bunch of food, which the bot threw in a chest, and it comes back (sometimes) and eats it. Problem is it doesn't care if some of it has since gone rotten, and just seemingly eats it in order. There's plenty of fresh food available and it's like: nah fam that one fish looked GREAT before, it's just.. a lot green now. My guess is that it still thinks of it as regular food because it knew it was at one point.

I mean it's a bot so "efficiency" isn't of the utmost importance but it should still probably prioritize not eating garbage if it can help it. Rotten meat doesn't sate much hunger and it both harms and I'm pretty sure it can poison you which the bot may have trouble recovering from.

Hey, can you make some actions repeatable? I want to set it off to collect maple seeds and take a 5 minute walk while it fills the inventory with them and whatnot

Probably :'# It would def be optional.

But having intelligent NPCs capable of doing player-like activities in a crafting game like this would be a real innovation in the genre. And IMO the genre does need a bit of innovation.

Not to mention, it would be just plain awesome.

(There is KINGDOMS which does this, but it isn't really pleasant to play and the game is single-player only)

It did well until it acquired a full set of leather armor then it proceeded to make 12 stone anvils until I stopped it. Quitting and restarting the game did not change the behavior. As far as I know only 1 anvil is needed. It is also obsessed with traveling a great distance to acquire snow to make water at the forge rather than desalinating seawater.

@Enchantress TARS does not change the permadeath setting, no. Is it possible it wasn't actually set to respawn on death? If you still have the save I can confirm that.

quick question @Drathy, i set up a custom casual game and in TARS mode my guy swam so far into the ocean to kill a polar bear that he died and it was game over. i thought in casual mode i could recover my items and continue...is this because my guy died while in TARS mode?

Blood, the creator of this mod is actually the game dev, so I am sure he knows all of the crafting recipes. This mod is a work in basic AI, so give it time time to grow and adapt. I have been following this one for over a year now and it gets better and better

My guy keeps drinking from pools of water getting posioned and dying if i leave for more than 5 minutes, is there a way to get him to just craft some clean water from bottle dirty water?

I noticed when TARS needs health, they immediately resort to satures. Didn't you know you can make bandages by getting 8 strips of bark and sewing it together to make cloth, which you can then make into bandages? besides, bandages heal more than satures and do the same bleed heal.

So my mod stopped working with my guy running back and forth but I managed to get it to work again by switching it off, exiting the game and reloading back in. Then I went underground and my guy got back to work, starting from the begining making a new base. I stopped it him when he was hungry and thirty and sent him back top. He started continuing off from where he got bugged in the loop and went and found iron to continue making the iron set.

This really is awesome. It seems I had to exit and reload the game in order to get the mod working correctly. It seems once it brakes it brakes until you reload the game. I left it to run and watched it. It was fun watching it run all across the world hunting for leather to make the complete leather set. That took a long time doing so. Then it started on iron and finally made an iron sword and then it seemed the mod broke and my guy just kept running up and down aimlessly.

This is awesome but for some reason it sometimes doesn't world when trying it out in a world giving me an Error message. (I had it working but kept dying and restarting and then the mod stopped working on each new world I tried to make a go of after a while).

Updates were for beta 2.8.5 compatibility. We still have plans to make advancements to TARS, but busy with other areas of the base game.

@lean You can enable the mod in the modding menu, not the title screen. Once it's enabled, you can activate it in-game by using "T" by default.

Works great. Swam across the ocean to mine a single tile of talc instead of checking out the mines which had talc close to the stairs. Manually killed a pirate ghost, took the treasure map that dropped, turned TARS back on and it disassembled the treasure map for fire tinder. A++

Vector, mine stopped planting grass once I wasnt hostile with the island. However, after that, it just doesnt do anything other than keep from dying. After leather, it does not progress any further. It did not build a base or anything along those lines. Just figured the mod creator would like to know

after it gets to leather armor it seems to get stuck in a loop of hoeing and planting grass and not really progressing. is what it does dependant on recipies you have unlocked or is it getting stuck without what it thinks it needs next?

Is there a way to display current objective of the bot, like "looking for ***" so if it stops we know its becuase its trying to find somethig that isnt on the map at the moment etc?

Sometimes it will just idle in place until it needs something, yes. You can force interaction by moving them around or by performing certain actions.
