It isn't "painting them as monsters" It's just that a movie needs an antagonist, and that could range from anything to a person, an animal, an alien, or an inanimate object.

I have never watched any media painting animals as heartless killers, but, they are just animals, they cannot comprehend much at all, just their specified instincts.

@Dude Well I get serious when it comes to people being scared of animals, due to media painting animals like snakes, spiders and sharks as heartless killers, when in reality they're just animals defending themselves, in the case of the snake it's protecting itself from a much bigger animal.

@Dude Still, boas lack venom, they kill their prey by crushing them, and seeing as the rubber boa eats mice and eggs, you can assume it is quite small, it is, fits in your hand.
