You are not doing anything wrong. It all depends on the color you want to put on the numbering of the license plate. It is based on HEX COLOR and I implemented it with a standard color (#FFFFFF) so that anyone can change it. Go to the folder where the license plates are located and change this parameter to any color of your choice.
However, soon I will make a small update because I really think good idea to appear in another color.
Visit any Google page showing the HEX COLORS, such as:

i dont know if i did something wrong but whenever i put any of the licence plate frames onto vehicles the letters are almost invisible like they are a very light grey or something. is there something i need to do to fix this?

No entiendo muy bien cuando dices que no te permite copiar los archivos a la carpeta LicentePlates.
Mi recomendación sería que vuelvas a suscribirte, vas a la carpeta de workshop\content\645630 y abres la carpeta 1206710514 y COPIAS, no CORTES, todas excepto las dos que comienzan por UPLOAD en LicentePlates de la "raiz" del juego.
Seguidamente desuscribete y comprobarás que los archivos desaparecen de workshop\content\645630\1206710514.
Entonces elimina la carpeta y por lógica debería aparecerte correctamente en el juego.
Así es como lo tengo yo.

Hello, download the license plates and they were me during the time I played, and the next day they were gone. I have tried to remove them from the Workshop folder of Steamapps and put them in the License Plates folder but they still do not leave me, any recommendations or something to try?

I read we can have 50 items from workshop. Make sure you have this requirement.
Although I have experienced some problems

Manual option

Subscribe to the article.
You can go into the workshop content folder where it puts all mods, and grab the (car, license plates, language) folders and copy them into the corresponding folder of the root of the game and they will show up in the game just fine.

The path of the workshop folder...
drive\STEAM\steamapps\workshop\content\645630

Then you can unsubscribe from that article in the workshop and you can leave more free slots for priority articles until you reach 50.
