In the time since I posted that comment I did indeed use that chair mod, works just fine.

engine limitation, but you should try out the chair mod, it works well on planes, and not as heavy. (if you use it, it has a keybinding to leave the chair and its default F, you should change it so you can operate your engine etc and not jump out :D)

Hello again,
I've made a plane-- yes, a working plane-- and i've been using this harness to strap yourself into it, like a "pilot chair"
ive come to an issue where-- above a certain speed-- the camera glitches into the model, making it impossible to see.

Is this a game engine limitation? Or can it be fixed?

I think the mod zip folder got somehow corrupted. Try deleting it. It will have the name 1513209781 in your servers mod folder

No, the animation system can't be accessed and even if so than there is no sitting animation.
So I can make a chair, but you will have to stand on it :D
