No, but you'll only get different songs after restarting the game, and it's random, so you'll still get the same song sometimes.

so I have to have the thanksgiving background to get different songs?

@ᵍˡᵘᵍᵍᵃᵛᵉðᵘʳ, That's how the l4d2 menu music works, it loops, same as the background. The next time you start the game, you may see a different background, if you do, there will also be different music.

If you mean something else by what you said, tell me, and I'll try to fix it if I can :)
