Well apparently updating mods while feverish is bad.
I made a very simple mistake but it works now to go poke the original author for permission.

Ok quick update fixed the owner = error and updated the version number but as a complete novice and someone who was forced to quit for years due to brain damage I have no idea how or why none of the techs are showing up still testing that and trying to compare to current versions of the tech code if anyone has ideas?

Well crud guess I gotta try and update this myself I've never even made a mod for Stellaris but looks pretty straightforward.
Lets give it a go wish me luck y'all if I get it working I'll see if I can't upload it.

@Argual Whenever lines 78 and/or 89 are checked in your events file my game CTDs.

Line 78: any_pop = { owner = { has_policy_flag = cybermen_integration_full } }
Line 89: any_pop = { owner = { has_policy_flag = cybermen_integration_selective } }

Something to do about policy flags. My error log complains about script errors and "Invalid context switch[owner]" right before the whole thing implodes.

@dastormdragon I have also been having similar CTDs. The last that appears in the error log before a bunch of planet/pop IDs is a nearly identical line:

[00:27:15][trigger_impl.cpp:792]: Script Error: Invalid context switch[owner], file: events/asc_traits_upgrade.txt line: 89, Scope:

The line number is sometimes different. Only other one I remember is line 78.

in your events file, the "owner = { has_policy_flag" bit appears to be causing my game to crash - error log shows "Script Error: Invalid context switch[owner]"

Updated the mod, check description for info (news at bottom). Report bugs if u find some, i worked on this at little breaks so I was pretty tired and I found so many dumb mistakes before uploading :D Hope you enjoy, hope I didnt change assimilators too much, I just wanted to make this interesting for them while also not making them manage 2 trait tech trees.

I'm not opposed to a new ascension perk. I kind of hate that I lost the 20% boost to production on machine worlds. Being able to mod my cyborg pops to make up for it, even at the cost of another ascension perk, would be good.

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I let assimilators get the biological tier 1 too, and close it there. Or maybe I should add an ascension perk, and make that a requirement. I am open to ideas, and I'll try to figure something out in the meantime.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that in 2.0.2 Assimilators no longer get Machine Worlds as an option so they are unable to take full advantage of all traits. Thanks for the great mod.

alright, sorry for bothering, I found the culprit. it was a mod that gave 99 trait picks, not this one. no worries!

I dont think so, It only adds techs (which are guaranteed to show up after ascension pick, but after you research it, should not affect)

is it possible that this mod could be disabling new trait points being added via research? After the update, I can research either trait or robomodding techs, but I'm not getting any points.

It's pretty tough to stay in the Psionic vein, given that they don't have many bonuses to specific resources. Maybe increase the flat Unity generation a bit and add a Happiness bonus? Leaving it with just the flat Unity and lowering the cost is also an option, although I think that might leave Psionic ascended empires at a disadvantage relative to the others
