it works but make sure to actually delete the old version or it will just be vanilla hoi4

Hey there is a way to get the patch version! Just simply press „subscribe” and then it will show a pop-up stating you need to download multiple files. Then click „download all” and then go to downloaded mods for hoi4. It will show the patched version and this version there. There you go! Delete the old version and use only the patch.
