this mod is great, but something which i see is too op is if you mine a resource from hearthstone dlc (clay/stone/etc) it mines the entire thing and floods your inventory with the items. something to just point out.

Might be a conflict with another mod. Try putting this one at the very end of your load order and see if that is still the case. If so, then you have another mod that is overwriting the same script and thus overwriting any changes this mod implements.

I loaded the mod, and used my existing character and it still takes 9 hits per ore vein

It should load for existing characters... I did my testing using an existing character and it worked fine.
