You should try Silent Hill 2, it's not a horror splatter like RE or SH3, it's a lot more psychological and reflective, a desperate and lonely journey within oneself that remembers the old movies (like David Lynch). It's not a scary end in itself but it's more an inner struggle. If you want a more thoughtful game instead of the usual disembowelment I recommend it to you.
