Hey, D MAS, can you make the fists be able to break glass? The glass that isn't a prop, that shatters dynamically.
Can you also make the speed much faster so you throw punches more quickly? Tweakable with a convar in the console maybe?

Frankly speaking, the mod that adds Gordon's Fists (That's the weapon's name in the game) is a lot better than this one, but I can't find the one that adds Gordon's fists

I think that problem lies more in the mass than anything. Gmod doesn't have a good way to balance forces and mass by default. I did have special handling for objects with a mass less than 1, but I'll need to go back in and check if everything is working right.

Also, try spawn FurnitureDresser001a and beat it to death with your fists. If you survive, you can go on to die to Furniture_shelf01a.

Since there's a lot of arguing over how much damage punching should do, why not allow it to be set by console?
No damage level works for everyone; some people fight standard Combine using inaccurate and weak weapons, some people are playing against instakill enemies that they need to be able to take down in a fraction of a second.

make sure to make a client side animation for it tho. if that works, try making the client side punch animations look more like the viewmodel animation. ofcourse make sure the kick animation does as well

Well, if it were a timing-based block like parrying in Dark Souls or simply countering in Zeno Clash, it would be insanely difficult to block bullet damage. Problem solved. Also, there is an addon out there made just for kicking-- with playermodel legs and everything. I doubt a kick function will be very helpful with this.

I was thinking about that for melee weapons or something. For fists...not sure. If it's against fists or something like a stun-rod then blocking would make sense. Not so much against bullets, which are 75% of what you fight against normally. Reload could be a kick or something.

Still, not a bad idea.

How about the ability to block? The fists don't use +reload, and guarding/blocking could fill that spot.

Because the physics is still messed up on really light objects. Using the original formula would cause them to not be knocked back enough, and heavy things to be knocked back too much.

They in fact are. In the orignal the first two punches do a random damage between 8 and 12, while the uppercut is between 12 and 24. In my original mod the punches do 10 while the uppercut did 20. The new damage has the second punch do 15 and the uppercut do 25. So it's best to combo your enemies for max damage.

It's the simple things in life that are taken for granted and this is a simple addon that has quite of bit of capablity in the 'messing around' department. Which, to me, fits in with Garry's Mod sandbox mode nicely.

Glad you like it...seems like a lot of people do actually. I wasn't expecting to get this much attention at all. And yes, I just editted the packaged weapons_fists that comes with the game. I'm still a novice at the whole scripting thing but I'm pretty proud of what I've done.

Never mind on that question. Seems to be the same as the normal fists. Though, enemies and allies alike ragdoll spectacularly. This one is a keeper. :D

Thanks. And I don't mind having extra eyes for one of my projects. Helps things that somehow manage to escape testing. I think of it like this; you liked a contribution of mine, and you suggested a few ways to make it better.

As a general note, the crowbar and stunrod are still better weapons, so a weapon durability addon might be a good idea.

Lmao, thanks for the feedback. I haven't tested this in multiplayer so I'm glad to know how it works there. I just decided to work on them again too. Swore I had the physics right tho...I actually killed myself with props via punching during testing

It could also use some improvements for multiplayer, sound files over lapping one another, like when you punch and you keep on clicking it'll sometimes include an extra punch sound in there. That's about it. Other than that it's a pretty good thing. I like it. With some minor improvements (Like you have given our dear fists) it could perhaps become one of the greatest fist addons ever

Yo, I like it, but the knock back is a problem. When ever you punch a prop, it goes fucking flying, same with people. If you punch them to death, their asses go hurtling through the air like fucking NASA decided to do some mother fucking Human Rocket Testing. Could this be fixed? Will this be fixed? This is not a super underpowered weapon. It's miles better than the original fist weapon. It just isn't super overpowered like you want. Besides, I'm not experienced in blender, scripting is my thing. And my statement still stands; I'm not doing it.
