I wanted to use it for a City Lights submod of sorts if that was alright with you.
If you're using it like a regular archer instead of what it is (a support unit) and facing the enemy head on by itself, it will get walked over as any other support unit would. The reason it is a support unit is because you would not otherwise be able to stack it with other units.
Context: The Assyrians were famed for their pairing system where archers would pair up with shielded melee units. It was a major factor in what made them the most effective military force of their time.
