Tried both options in the MCM, tried to reload from a strategic save and a tactical save, no dice.

Am I missing something, or do I have to edit these files every time I need to make changes?

I'm pretty sure it disables all the chosen dialogue in game, which imo is awful. +rep

best QoL mode ever, for anyone that has played through the game more than once. Followed closely by No Reveal Cinematics and Narrative Control, for the same reason.

it's in the required mod section that should pop up when you sub, and to the side.

Use the alternative mod manager and not the firaxis buggy launcher.

I should say dozens of different approaches to get it working again, not necessarily literal reinstalls (as that would only take a single try if it worked, obviously). I'm a programmer by profession and I fully believe the less technically inclined will need to reset their entire system if the launcher breaks.

The mod might but Firaxis launcher doesn't and installing this will have a chance to brick your entire game. It took me dozens of reinstalls to even get the base game (without mods) to work again and I only managed to do it by accident.

So yes, install at your own peril. It's not the mod authors fault but the game will break regardless.

Word to the wise: installing this mod and MCM broke my game to the point where i can no longer play even after unsubscribing, verifying game files and deleting configuration and save data manually.

And I used to just rush and kill those chosens to silence them.. *THIS* is a better alternative...

YES! thank you. whoever wrote the dialogue in this game can suck a fat one. is there one to turn off the reaper/templar/skirmisher HQ guys as well? they suck just as hard

Possibly the best mod I've found. Whoever wrote the dialogue for the Chosen deserves a slap. Whoever decided said dialogue should be unskippable, repetitive, and take ages every time...deserves a million slaps.

Unfortunately it also stops the dialogue when starting a mission (instructions) and when mission is complete. Not that I love Bradford but those 2 instances are actually important to me.

Thank Christ for this. The game has terrible dialogue, and the chosen are some of the most cardboard characters. The elders seem to have sent the chosen to bore me to death, rather than kill xcom.

cant activate it. keep clicking the activae box in mod settings and save and exit. but the box is unchecked when i check again. and the chosen still wont shut up.

Just completed a WOTC campaign with 63 mods including this one. All ran perfectly. I like this mod, I will use it again.

Should have a mod for the Chosen taunting you for soldier wounds/deaths even if they aren't on the map.

Thanks again for this, it does help. Sadly drama queen bradford still wets himself everytime he sees an alien boss.

See I kinda want a troll version of this mod where all the chosen dialogue is reduced, EXCEPT for the Warlock, who rants twice as much as before lol

New update includes an option for radio silence in tactical. Almost no tactical voiceovers will survive both options being on. (set the first to 0 to stop all of the dynamic ones.)

Yay! It was fun the first time.

The worst part about the Chosen is that 50% of their diagloue is whining. Its definitely a change of pace to hear villains admit you're fucking up their shit, but damn do they need to have a little more dignity.

One of the big problems I had with the chosen were the fact it would take control away from you when they were talking. You pretty much had to wait before even moving the camera.

Does this mod change that?

Now we need an in game hero called Charmed. Thank you so much fo this, every little bit of their useless prattle that can be silenced is cause for celebration.
