@hog_jockey - You don't have to be rude to Spincrus, but if you don't want dinos to use the pen system, either use a sentience catalyst, or use the mod "Animals Are Smart" (look for the 1.6 version by Kotobike).
hog_jockey 30. aug. kl. 16:27
I'm sorry, but it's fucking ridiculous that sauropods require a pen.
elĐeve 27. aug. kl. 23:33
i didn't notice a mod for 'no pens' existed, sorry for asking when something easy already existed lol
thanks dinosaur dev ayways i love my diplodocus
stalecheezit 20. aug. kl. 12:52
when I have this mod active, it seems like 90% of animal spawns are dinos, and not much of any of the other animals, vanilla or not. is there a way to decrease the spawn rate of the dinos?
Draco Sicarius 20. juli kl. 15:15
I got it!

Enjoy your trainables and caravan-ing folks :coolcera:
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 20. juli kl. 10:37
I hope you figure it out man. Feel free to post the patch as a separate mod!
Draco Sicarius 19. juli kl. 18:38
*There may be a delay. For some reason, can't seem to get WarTrumpet to function for dinos. I can get animals from other mods to be able to use it, but when I have a dino use the ability it won't apply the wartrumpet debuffs.
Draco Sicarius 18. juli kl. 21:47
Spincrus! I have figured out how mod patching works, so some time this weekend I'll have a neat-o patch mod that gives dinos special trainables and (some) dinos a caravan riding speed :slimehappy:
Draegon1993 18. juli kl. 7:19
Well done Spincrus. I know from experience it's a lot of tedious work :D
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 18. juli kl. 3:34
Added unfertilized eggs to every dino, tested, and am not getting errors anymore.
Draegon1993 17. juli kl. 6:08
@doeulas If they are egg related errors that is because of 1.6 requiring that every egg-laying creature have unfertilized eggs in their XML
BasementGhst 17. juli kl. 4:20
I should hold off on downloading mod yes?
doeulas 16. juli kl. 14:06
getting some weird erros when loading this mod, errors for all the kinds of dinos
TooManyKobolds 15. juli kl. 8:31
getting weird code errors with dino melee attacks.
HitmanKiller12 13. juli kl. 16:00
Absolutely love this mod! I do think it would be worth updating the balance from the Prehistoric mod when you get the opportunity.
Draegon1993 13. juli kl. 15:59
@LeanWolf Broken code?
LeanWolf 13. juli kl. 12:34
Still better than Biomes! broken code, Thank you for maintaining this beautiful mod
Draco Sicarius 12. juli kl. 17:45
I think I understand how to add the special trainable attribute; it's fairly simple actually! Is there a way I can do the update for you? Like a Git merge request or something? I've never done modding myself so not sure how it works
GoblinEngineer 12. juli kl. 10:00
Seems you're already aware of the eggUnfertilizedDef errors, so I will instead thank you for maintaining and updating this glorious mod.
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 12. juli kl. 9:52
@Draegon1993 I may just use the Biomes! balancing.

@Touka although Draegon is a good friend and he'd give me permission to use his art, but it just doesn't make sense when you can simply sub to the Prehistoric mod instead.

@Draco Sicarius No, just maintaining the mod, not adding extra features. I simply do not have time.
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 12. juli kl. 9:48
I'm out of town for 2 days, can't fix the eggUnfertilizedDef errors yet, but game should be playable despite this. I haven't even been able to play Odyssey yet, super excited!
ADMIRAL AWESOME 12. juli kl. 5:39
Getting lots of errors as well. Would appreciate if you could fix the mod even even though your limited time for the mod.
Hades 11. juli kl. 22:15
Like Bolemus said... getting lots of errors
Draco Sicarius 11. juli kl. 16:31
Hey out of curiosity, are there any plans to give dinos from this mod 'special training' abilities? Like Thrumbos have a scary roar, megasloths mine, certain animals like bears can be directed to attack a specific target etc.
bolemeus 11. juli kl. 15:40
Im getting an error for pretty much every dinosaur in 1.6

Something like...
```
Config error in TyrannosaurusRex: eggUnfertilizedDef is null
```
The Lost Cake 11. juli kl. 15:01
It becomes basically impossible to encountere any of these if you have a decent amount of other mods that add animals, i've gone entire runs without seeing one.
Draegon1993 11. juli kl. 14:56
@Touka You could always ask, says the Biomes! head (Me). He had my permission to use our balancing, at least. I balanced the hell out of Prehistoric
Touka 11. juli kl. 14:26
Hmmm is there a way to get permission to use the sprites from biomes prehistoric?
Draco Sicarius 7. juli kl. 20:01
Also I honestly don't mind the graphics myself. Not to say that you can't update if you have the time and will, but they don't seem out of place in Rimworld in my opinion.
Draco Sicarius 7. juli kl. 19:59
Ahhh I see, I understand then. Apologies if I came off a bit rude, just wanted to make sure I had numbers to back myself up and wasn't just going "waah bad balance"
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 7. juli kl. 11:18
On my wishlist (which I probably won't get to do) is also scaling up the graphics for the dinos. I drew all this in 2016 and 2017, so there needs to be an update, but a lot has changed in my life in the past 8 years...
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 7. juli kl. 11:16
@Draco Sicarius while I'd love to do some balancing on the meat and leather amounts (and consolidate some of the meat types to decrease the amount of items for better storage purposes) I simply don't have time really.
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 7. juli kl. 11:15
@Diedtrich thanks for the heads up, that's a simple fix, will do.
Draco Sicarius 7. juli kl. 7:41
I think the meat and leather amounts are pretty low. A full grown, healthy stego (mass 270) says it'll give only 360 meat and 135 leather, whereas a full grown, healthy megasloth (mass 240) says it'll give 560 meat and 160 leather. I think it's a bit odd that something whose mass is arguably mostly flesh and weighs more somehow gives less meat than something whose total mass is almost certainly affected by its non-flesh parts (the fur/leather). Cory has a similar issue, it's 240 kg but only offers a meager 140 meat and 55 leather. Elephants in comparison are the same as megasloths and are also 240 kg but give 560 meat and 160 leather.
Diedtrich 7. juli kl. 7:28
Getting Config errors in just about all dinosaurs: eggUnfertilizedDef is null on game startup. Looks like the animals are missing the <eggUnfertilizedDef> entry, so unfertilized eggs can’t spawn.
Draco Sicarius 6. juli kl. 18:28
omg dinos my beloved
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 6. juli kl. 14:52
Just updated to 1.6. Let me know if you have any errors.

I mean AI did most of the legwork, wasn't going to cut-paste the same variable and capitalize the first letter 34 times myself...
blackblood 1. juli kl. 16:50
thank you for making an amazing experience:steamthumbsup:
Lee Meowth 29. juni kl. 0:39
My favorite mod of all time, man hunting t-rex is scary but the potential meat yield is worth it.
StegosaurusTTV 26. juni kl. 11:53
Is this compatible with Vanilla Animal Expanded and Alpha Animals? I imagine dinosaurs will be extremely rare with these 2 mods which seem fine for me.
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 20. juni kl. 16:54
This will be updated to 1.6.
Solarius Scorch 19. juni kl. 1:30
@ Prophet Of Merci: There's a small change from 1.5 to 1.6, the wilderness attribute should now be in a different section. It's a small effort, but still needs to be done.
Prophet Of Merci 18. juni kl. 16:32
@spincrus

Not asking for an update to 1.6, but is this still working decently for 1.5? Any outstanding issues atm?
Ulas 12. mar. kl. 22:15
hi is this up to date and usable in 1.5?
Youtep 17. feb. kl. 3:30
Hello, I have a lot of errors like
Could not resolve cross-reference to Verse.ThingDef named Corpse_TyrannosaurusRex (wanter=thingDefs)
in starting
SiaNKs 9. feb. kl. 17:18
Best working verison is Giddy Up 2 Forked rn, will it work with it anyway?
SiveDD 6. feb. kl. 19:28
As 1.5 the patches for A dog said and Giddy up are not included.
Shadowninja18 27. jan. kl. 15:42
so far all the dinos I have seen can do 2 eggs per year. Is this correct? I would assume some dinos could lay alittle more eggs like the raptors. I can see rexes being maybe 2 a year but I think raptors being a pack dino would atleast do 4-6 eggs a year. I could be dumb and am missing something xD. Any info or help would be great!
l0v3rm4n69420 16. jan. kl. 11:56
sweet, thank you
spincrus  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. kl. 11:31
I believe they have patched it themselves. Sarg's old work did at least.
