This observer mode is now included in the 2.3 Players Patch . Thanks to Sastrei!

You can also use spectator maps to let up to 6 people spectate, and only the host needs to install them. Spectators simply scuttle and click yes to observe.

@CountVonFluff what are you on about? it is a spectator mod what did you want it to do? did you want a flamethrower attached to the spectator ship???

Its for casting multiplayer games. Since there is no replays or observer mode, this is the only way to make it happen, and for that purpose its a damn fine idea.

It's basically a mod where you play as a spectator. You get 1 indestructible ship that can't attack and has a sensor range that covers the whole map. So, as far as mods go, this one makes the game completely boring.
