I frankly don't know. Recoil Dampers and heavy build can help. "Two-Handed" guns like this really should be mounted on the side on the battle-saddle, though the IF-88 i described as a hoof-held weapon (however that would work, which even in FO:E's universe isn't very well).

As for fumes? If one was using smokeless or otherwise clean burning powder with a decent shotgun, then what fumes. My best wager is that it's like firing a sawn-off with one's cheek firmly on the buttstock. (The only shotgun I know of that has fume issues is the Striker 12, and even then it's just really unpleasent.)

But beyond that, I'm no expert on these sorts of firearms.

Also, a side thought, horses do have pretty decent skulls and necks. Decent enough to beat the hell out of each other in the wild. Kinda funny to watch, these supposedly "majestic" creatures bashing each other's heads with their own, just to get laid. xD

I've been putting off updating this rubbish gun. In theory, CPPM, PPM, and PPM2 all work just fine. It isn't rigged for humans and behaves weirdly, but it'll still work as a weapon.
