When you say "load a map in the program," which one are you referring to? Halo Mod Tools? Halo Reach? 3? it's the Mod Tools i guess?

Some would say it isn't worth getting unless it's some of the bigger units. Most of the units are pretty low quality, besides the goblin and scarab for example. Ones like the jetpack brutes, a grunt squad, or an elite honor guard are too small to get any sort of quality out of the textures.

In terms of what we used to get them, I don't personally know. That's Polingo's area. I'll ask him in a couple of hours and see what he says.

If it's alright to ask, what tool did you use to extract the Halo Wars 2 assets? I haven't been able to find much. I was looking into getting the models for all the sentinel units for an addon I'm working on. Or is it even worth pursuing (since I heard that the quality is kinda low for some units)?

This addon will be receiving an update in the future to improve the overall looks. When that will be is unknown. Keep an eye out.

I used Soul's halo reach Needler, resized the needles from the gun, and repositioned them on top of the spartan.

What did you use for the needler needles in the spartan in the first picture? I need it for my halo project. You cant have halo with needlers but I cant include them if I have no needles to use

There are custom modelers that edit stuff like this. Do I know any though? Probably not.

SwedishMudkip helped us get the raw files. We are still in the process of getting more Halo wars 2 stuff right now, but we have a halo 4 vehicle we have been working on as well as a certain character you "should" recall. Not saying anything else on that.

I personally don't think it's a waste of time because I do a LOT of artworks each day. I never actually got bored of it when I got this computer last X-mas. Also, I got nothing else to do after I've done my homework, so I started playing around with SFM every day.

That's what we are aiming for. Unfortunately some poeple think it's a waste of time, as are a few other assets. So we port some items some of the porting thread refuses to do. Some by request, or because we are bored.

We can always do with more Halo Wars 2 models.

Ok, thanks. Also, there's some artwork related to this workshop items if you want to use them to show off this model for the grunts.
