I just made this suggestion solely because the cats lack the ability to subdue their enemies for a killing blow. In reality cats wouldn't bite and claw at prey repeatedly, that much is true. They pin it, cling to the nose or throat, and wait for it to suffocate. Don't have that in Rimworld I'm afraid. So in this case they would claw more than bite.
So in the context of the game, sure, it's better for them to sometimes scratch or even to do it more often; but Dinoman is confusing play/ritual fighting with 'fighting' to kill and when trying to kill something cats bite it.
@DeadTomLives Big cats do currently only bite, but I plan on changing my code to have biting as a primary source of attacking for cats, while scratching still has a chance to occur.
@Occyfel They do currently only bite, but as said in the quote above, I plan on making them scratch incase their jaw is missing instead of going straight for the headbutt attack.
@Skade Probably not, but all that you'd really need to do is remove
-Races_Animal_Arid
-Races_Animal_BigCats
-Races_Animal_Rodentlike, and
-Races_Animal_WildCanines
from the ThingDefs_Races folder in the dropbox link.
And then you'd have the same exact mod, but without all of the other faff and only the labs and huskies.
Good idea and thank you for the mod
