turns out i can't do anything with it on deck because i don't have any kind of external keyboard yet, the options in the menu want me to change keys but i can't exactly do that

It's the same as how i use my mods.
You make the game load your custom files, the same way the game loads it's own files.

You can Google for it, it's easy.

Valve blocked Add-ons in Versus games.
Though in campaign Add-ons do work.

Wait for all your addons to load before trying them out in-game.

Subscribe to the mod, go to your l4d2, check it's not imcompatible with other mods, then go to options > Keyboard/Mouse > edit keys (it's at the top i think...) > go all the way down on the menu > bind an unused key on whatever menu you want.

Character Selection is for the two specific lines, once you select a character with the mouse in the wheel with names, you start using the specific lines of the one you selected.

You can change wich specific lines you want to use, not all can be use by anyone like i said in the end of the post.

what is the character selection do?

Set the keys to each dialogue menu you want to use in Options > Keyboard/mouse > edit keys > go all the way down and put one of your keyboard keys to one option.

I've binded the 1 and 2 but nothing pops up when I press/hold the key I binded them to. I binded all of them from 6-0 under the F keys. Everything else works though, which is why it confuses me, because I wanted to use them because there fun to use. I'm thinking that it doesn't work because something messed up when I subscribed.

I mean with that comment you need to bind to a key (Example: G) The "Character Selection" in the menu options with all the other keys of every other action like move forward, backwards, shoot, shove all that, to bind the menu keys you need to scroll down to the bottom of the menu and there if you want to use the Specific Lines 1 and 2 you need to bind Character Selection like i said above, and there press and hold the key, move the mouse, and select one of the character names, then you can use the lines.

I can't get the specific lines to work, I bind them but nothing happens. And I don't understand the comment with you saying, "don't forget to put a key on "character" option to use the specific lines. Please help.

It's optional if you want to use character specific lines you have to bind it and press/hold the key, Select the character in the menu with the mouse and release the button, now you have the menu with the lines you can use it with the character you selected the menu or other but in the same version like i said above, because the game uses different codes from L4D1 voice lines to L4D2.

Just like the original, click on options keyboard/mouse, change keys scroll down to the end and there are the menus, don't forget to put a key on "Character" option to use the specific lines.
