Understood, a shame tho, the Idea of character working with Cards is something you'll notice isn't quite there yet. It was cool to think "Ehi! Card Sinergy! :D".

@MrBalloons Unfortunately, I haven't been playing TBoI in more than a year and as such I have no current interest to update the mod. Dedicated melee characters already put a dampener on my desire to work on this mod to begin with admittedly, since I've developed it to cover the niche that didn't exist before.

The concept is sweet, the base mod does work as intended, but i think updating it to the modern standards would make it better, also, when i try to leap Basil starts blinking VERY Bright white, and it' directly connected to leaping and not the Leaping cooldown, it also would make sense to have some sort of Sound or Visual cue to allert the Player that he can Leap again;
Also, the leap is quite wonky and since sometimes you would end up stuck over a rock or a pit it gives you flight for the room, wich is.. unintended i think.
Making the Leap Mechanically work like "How to Jump" would be nicer and cleaner of Trouble i belive, and maybe the Attack Aura that Basil has in Cat form is.. a bit too strong and not the easiest to use since you can't actually see how much range it has; if it could work in Swipes instead of an Aura it would certainly be more intuitive and less precarious, the Leap should still keep the Damage Aura if that was the case.

but basil is just perfect also i love the idea fool for christ and the cat form but cat form with the hair is kind weird xP is cute when you use the strange card in others like eden

the character is too easy, with camo undies i can go around the room killing everything, bosses melt like ice cream and generaly he is just too good of a start what i would reccomend is removing the fool for christ item and giving a little bit more chance of finding that item, starting with just the strange card is more than enough, also if you have cursed eye , brimstone and others you will be able to shoot in kitty form.

Fool for christ is really good in greed mode. If you have gone into every room (including secret rooms and the end room) and use the fool, it will always take you to an I am error room

Updated the mod! General QoL updates and one adjustment to 0 - Fool spawning mechanics.

Hm... I'll look into that, then. My playstyle is definitely more speed-oriented, so I could miss the breaking ability being that powerful. I have a couple of thoughts on how to do go about it, but nothing 'specific' enough to code up.

Well, right now I can definitely say that for slow players, such as myself, Basil is really too easy to break. I've done 3 runs with him, and every time he ended up extremely powerful because of the free access to secret/devil/angel/error rooms.

Yeah, taking it slow is an option as well. I'm not entierly sure on the balancing right now (I spent way too much time and sanity fighting the API), since I tried to keep him mostly within the 'dangerous' territory, but the 'explore everything' is a possibility, although it might take up some time, requires some management and so on. I wouldn't mind getting more gameplay information to actually see how bad would it be for enjoyment of players (or if it'll be way too easy to break) so I'd know how exactly to tweak it without making it even more complex.

I guess, it's a "high risk/reward character" only for speedrunners, because if you explore rooms normally, without using The Fool, you can easily gain access to all secrets, devil/angel deals and I am error rooms by the end of every floor -- and that's just "high reward" without any "risk" involved.
