If you were wondering, the icon for it is grey, but it is gold.

Skalog, this does not require TF2. Therefore, if you're like me and don't really play TF2 and don't want to have to deal with it taking up space on your hard drive (and those pesky updates!) but you want the materials in Gmod, you would download this.

It's not rocket science.

Mangle, if you want specific gold parts, like a Golden Soldier Bot head and the rest normal, Subscribe to Sub-Material Tool.

Type in search "Sub-Material Tool", and your good to go

I included required textures in the addon so you are no longer required to have TF2 installed, hopefully I'm not too late with the update.
Not sure about half gold though, you can only go with full-on gold like on screenshots.

When in main menu, click Options , click Video tab and finally click Advanced... button, you can disable HDR there.

Seems like HDR is causing this. Try disabling HDR in your Video settings.

Sadly, it's not possible to fix the issue by subscribing to this addon, though it is possible to edit .vmt from game files and mod TF2 itself.

Can this fix the normal tf2 texture for gold? I play it at highest graphics and see the gold without Shading.

Materials work fine for me, make sure TF2 is also mounted on your GMod; I have no idea what else could cause that, sorry.
