I can open the settings in-game with the map open and a an animal habitat tile selected, and when I increase the slider from 3x to 4x, my megasloth habitat will change to a Turkey habitat. The icons will update the next time the game is loaded, but the text changes immediately. It does not seem to affect the save file, since reloading it later and lowering the slider will change the mutators back to the original.
I am using a mod to increase the number of animal habitats and POIs on the world map, so it might be related to that.
Here is a before and after changing the slider: https://imgur.com/a/7oPa8aj
And yeah they really should get new behaviors. I dont really think Spino is actively developing this though so its probably gonna stay as is
Yes, you could say the troll who posted it indeed went extinct, the way he'll never be seen in this comment section ever again
Sorry, I've already deleted those messages so it might be a bit confusing now ;p
Thanks for letting me know, I already had him blocked but I'll go ahead and delete his comment now
Amphicyon is actually a whole genus and I was more so going for specific species of animals in this mod (hence the name change from Entelodont to Daeodon in one of the first updates).
As for Andrewsarchus, it wasn't an amphicyon so if there was to be an amphicyon in Megafauna, it'd have to be a separate animal (and unfortunately, I'm kinda done with adding new content to the mod).
Better get hunting!!
I vaguely recall adding it just for the higher chance of bonding with colonists. These animals were initially supposed to be very rare and so once you've managed to tame one, I wanted it to feel special in your base :)
I mean I'm not complaining, not in the slightest, but I find it more than a little morbidly amusing that someone can get nuzzled by a millipede the length of a small bus or a grizzly-sized otter on steroids every three days.
