One is of course the dream sequence, where this is all a dream with the dreamer going through, trying to get through the end and wake up, whether that's just to escape the dream or because in life he's in a coma and trying to find his way to wake back up.
Another one could be that the player is an avatar in a cyber world or a rebel user that's jacked into it, and the player's goal is to wander through the broken maze of the Combine primary computer network to break their grip on something important on earth so the rebels can fight back.
A third is that the player is simply wandering their way through a broken jumble of dimensions or is a rebel trying to navigate it to fight the combine and all the different pieces are spliced together bits of worlds lost into dimensional rifts.
Those are the three that come to mind for me anyway.
Hey, I miss hearing people's theories about what's happening in the maps. Who has one they want to share?
Paranoia (the idea if not the locations you've seen so far) are going to feature very heavily in my book. Hopefully that'll clear up a few things about what it "is".
I go in with a friend, attaching it to part of our little story, and fully expecting an acid trip. We instead get an insane asylum lookin' thing that ends up being very serious.
I would put "playing the Garry's Mod custom map Paranoia by Shadgrimgrvy" as a candidate for one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Gonna eventually play the other two with him, maybe bring others.
Coming back to this is like going back the the very first version of Minecraft so weird but I love it.
i dident want to sleep tonight anyway.
Great map! ;D
