Move the lua file into the autorun folder, and the player should be working again. It also adds the c_HEV hands.
The lua file has to look like this:
local function AddPlayerModel( name, model )
list.Set( "PlayerOptionsModel", name, model )
player_manager.AddValidModel( name, model )
end
AddPlayerModel( "Gordon Freeman", "models/player/gordon_classic.mdl" )
After than, it should now work just fine (it did for me at least).
And second maybe its because every serever you join the host has the mod
