I know I said I'd not work on the mod for a bit but I still had a few things I wanted to do before leaving it on a small hiatus.


- Fixed Miros Birds in Metropolis Subway not spawning, and a bunch of other minor room preference stuff I probably forgot to type here.

- Removed the Pearl Readers in SS_D08, RM_D08, DM_TEMPLE, and SL_TEMPLE.
This was done in favor of keeping it scarce, it is only accessible in Metropolis now. Also makes it less likely to jumpscare people with spoilers.

- Removed Score Galore (Watcher) from the mods soft-dependencies as it is no longer needed to prevent softlocks.

- Changed Rat spawns in Garbage Wastes and Metropolis to be placed objects.

- Changed Frog spawns in Garbage Wastes, Shoreline, Waterfront Facility, Drainage System, and Undergrowth to be placed objects.
Only done to match the above case, and control where exactly the frogs are specifically found in a room.

- Added loot and food to the Bitter Aerie Miros Vulture nest to make it worth visiting.
Besides the token unlock, of course. It has some Slime Mold to eat as well as a guaranteed Vulture Mask from the Miros' hunts.

- Added a Train Lizard that patrols the Subways of Metropolis at night.

- Added a Scavenger King to Metropolis and Garbage Wastes for characters who are not Artificer.
Unlike the Metropolis King, the Garbage Wastes King needs to be lineaged at a low chance.
The lineage goes as follows: Templar > Disciple > King

- Added Void Weaver locations to each of the base game and Downpour regions. (except Rubicon)
Only matters if you are using an external mod such as this to create manual warps in these regions, as it can in fact trigger Void Weavers appearance if it is given a room to do so. So here you go I guess in the off chance you are this small crowd? This was only done to look cool and give him normal region compatibility so surpriiise. Don't expect Spinning Top compatibility though.


Wanted to do more with this update, mainly by changing all of the [MERGE] tags in the properties files into [FINDLINE] and [ADDAFTER_1] instead, but unfortunately the game refused to acknowledge these which resulted in very broken creature navigation.
I'd still like to look into fixing vanilla creature room preferences, so I might simply replace everything with modified versions of the Downpour preferences to alleviate this... But it will still make the mod soft-incompatible with other [MERGE] using mods, probably.

- Blacklisted Leviathans, Vultures, King Vultures, and Miros Vultures from Looks to the Moons chamber.
Accidentally overwrote those preferences with the recent changes.
Room preferences in general are buggy across the whole mod, I'll still need to fix them properly one day.

- Reduced the amount of Sea Leeches in SL_B01 to prevent them from DROWNING the ANGLER.
????? Why is this possible?

- Removed the Big Moth in Outskirts for certain characters in favor of a hidden Moth Grub to raise instead.

- Changed the room preferences for Loaches in Garbage Wastes to hopefully lead them to being stuck behind small walls less often.

- Replaced the Loaches in Garbage Wastes with Tower Crabs for Artificer and Spearmaster.

- Added back the singular Loach to Farm Arrays, for certain characters.

- Added several creature spawns to the uninhabited cave system in Outskirts.
For Slugcats that cannot normally encounter them, a Slugpup who has washed in from Outer Expanse can be found lost in these caves...

- Added the remaining Rubicon colored creatures into the map.
More pretty one-of-a-kind golden individuals to nickname! Or hate the unexpected arrivals of.

- Added some Stowaways to Garbage Wastes, Drainage System, Outskirts, Industrial Complex, Farm Arrays, Chimney Canopy, and Shaded Citadel.
They are most common in Shaded Citadel now, but due to how Stowaways are rarely awake, this shouldn't be a problem. Just keep an eye out for those drool strands!

- Added the missing chime sound effects to the Plate Trees in Sky Islands.

- Added a Pearl Reader to LC_topexit by user request.
This will be the last one.


- Added some room preferences for the Outer Expanse Angler to avoid it moving rooms and beaching itself.

Next update I'll finally give Stowaways some love and distribute more of them across the map.

- Hopefully fixed the Moth Grub in Subterranean not spawning.

There seems to be an odd issue going on where some dens never spawn their creatures, the best workaround I have at the moment is to assign a different den in the same room to affected creatures.
I am not sure if this is tied to a creature cap for the region, or simply part of the "creature-less regions" bug that the Watcher DLC is known for.
If you think this bug is happening and that a den is never spawning a DLC creature, let me know.

Just a fun optional way to view pearls besides Iterators.
Serves no real gameplay purpose, it's just here for fun.

- Added a Pomegranate to SU_A40.

- Added a small population of Peach Lizards to Pipeyard.

- Added various Plate Trees and Sky Whale pathfinding nodes to Sky Islands.
Hopefully the Whales will be a bit smarter in the more open rooms rather than nosediving downwards?

- Added a Leviathan Whale trigger to Sky Islands in SI_C08, with a cooldown of 10 cycles.
Watch out, it can eat you if you aren't paying attention!

- Added a few new music triggers to some rooms.

Familial Sky to SI_D09
Salt Wind Ritual to VS_C08

- Fixed Basilisk Beat not playing in GW_E02 due to a typo of just being called Basilisk.

- Reverted Rot Lizards being determined through the Lineage system.
Some lizards would be rotted, others would not, sometimes they somehow lineage without the tag at all.

Next update will focus on improving Sky Whale and Leviathan navigation if nothing else needs fixing in the meantime, as well as possibly some other things.

- Added a single Tower Crab to Farm Arrays.

- Added Anglers to several regions.

- Added Peach Lizards to several regions.

- Added a singular Locust Whale to Garbage Wastes.
Honestly there wasn't anywhere else to really put him.

- Added abandoned Moth Grubs to several regions.
Typically 1 Grub per region, usually outside of a Moths reach.
Put it in a shelter to raise a Moth in a region it wouldn't normally be native in!

- Added Graffiti Bombs to some Scavenger Treasuries.
Most common in Garbage Wastes. Note that since these are technically not part of the actual treasuries spawn pool, they instead have a respawn timer ranging from 2-13 cycles on average. This should hopefully keep them rare and random enough despite being set item spawns.
Graffiti Bombs can neutralize poison!

- Changed the population of Small Moths to be lower so that they aren't a constant presence.

- Changed the population of Drill Crabs in Garbage Wastes to be slightly lower.

- Changed several of the Rot Lizards in Garbage Wastes to rot through the lineage system.
Some of them will only progress to a certain point, but this should keep them quite simple early on in a playthrough.

Removed for now, view above patch note for info.

- Updated the room preferences for several regions. This may make some creatures wander more freely than they previously did, if any issues occur please report them in the Bug Forum.

- Moved the most recent Rot-related additions into a separate mod called Semi-Sentient Rot at the request of some users.
All major Rot related changes will now be forwarded to that mod instead. It will be listed as a soft-dependency, but is not required to use the main mod. It however does require this one.

- Fixed Evening At Peace to CC_F01 not playing.

If I forgot a room or two let me know. I had to move at least a hundred room files.
