The major update for Patch 1.3.x has arrived!

  • !!!Add the Mod Option - 'Enemy Explosion Resistance Level'!!!
  • Mod Option - 'Enemy Explosion Resistance Level' can determine enemy explosion resistance on PRONE stance (JA3 Vanilla explosion damage reduction on CROUCH stance is 30% while on PRONE stance is 60%). The higher %, the less explosive damage would inflict.
  • As Dev in 1.3 Patch has aleady fix the 'NightOps' sight function, so 'Darker Nights - NightOps Fix' mod is NOT needed atm. At the current 1.3.x patch stage, Nightmare mod has its own Night Time opertaion Mechanism (e.g. players\enemies darkness sight range & detection rate are greatly reduced) !
  • Some explosives and mortar shells will be much more fatal in the upcoming update!


A NEW game-start must be needed for this major update.

The major update has arrived!

  • !!!Eliminates the issues of the stuttering and soft freezing during the combat phases to minimum!!!
  • Enhances ALL AI Archetypes and function including battle efficiency, perk combo and gear system!
  • Improves the FATALITY of CQC & Explosives; keep a safe distance from those monsters unless you know what you are doing!
  • Reduces enemies loot-drop rate;use resources carefully otherwise not be able to survive in a min!


In this update, you are required to build a hybrid team including melee\explosive experts, stealthy night ops commandos, MG\Heavy Weapon specialists and sniping sharpshooters to escape from "The Grand Chien Darkest Nightmare".

A NEW game-start must be needed for this major update.

Always welcome to choose the 'FIRST BLOOD' + 'HARD BOILED' difficulty options for adaptation. In other words, choosing any higher difficulties means you ACCEPT that you are supposed to be cutted to pieces by those merciless monsters. THERE IS NO FAIR OR ADAPTATION IN THE NIGHTMARE!

Enhanced 'Adept' AI Archetype now they are extremely dangerous opponents :)
Many minor AI improvement and fixes;
Remove a wrong type loot crate leftover in the old version (sorry for the inconvenience to all BCE mods users).

Enemies tactics, gear and archetypes are optimised for NEW Overhaul-Gunfight Rework 3.0.

Overhaul-Gunfight Rework is now strongly recommeded to play with this hardcore enemies mod.

"Hard Boiled" mod option becomes the default one to give player a chance for difficulty adaptation.

By request, slightly enhance 'Hard Boiled' enemies so now they are competent in nightmare experience.

MAX-Compatibility mod options finally ADDED!
'MAX-Compatibility' option tag must be selected if playing with other Balance and Overhaul mods. e.g. BCE, TOG, Timmeh's Weapon Overhaul, TrueLife Weapons Revision, Gundug's Weapon, etc. GC-Militia mod is also supported here.


*Rato's Gameplay Balance and Overhaul 3 is compatible with all mod options.
*Use Overhaul\weapon balancing mods without 'MAX-Compatibility' mod option might cause the game unplayable.
*Non-Overhaul\weapon balancing mods are 99% compatible.
