i think i solved it the unintended way because i skipped the entire left half (from the workshop picture's perspective) of the chamber

People, stop complaining about having to redo sections of chambers when a mistake is made. QuickSave and QuickLoad, that's the solution.

Smart puzzle, but GOD was it annoying to execute. There is a problem with the portal placement on the angled surfaces, and every time it fails you gotta redo the whole routine. Took me like 5 or 6 attempts after realizing what I'm supposed to do.

Also, you can remove the portal surface on the celling, it only enables the cheese and you can get back from the high place simply by portalling up and catapulting yourself over the goo, so It's completely unneccesery.
