The turret/gen positioning is growing on me a bit... I'd say leave it for now. I expect people may complain about it if we continue pushing this as a quick-match map though.
I tried testing alot on that but I was unsuccesful. The idea was to give a neutral point for vision (like watchtower in sc2 sort of). Do you think I should change the middle into a standard point? Elite? Otherwise I might add an elite resource possibly on the points with 2 requisitions and try to fix the pathing next to mid so builders cant reach it.
The turret being in range was intentionnal. At that point in time, the idea was to have a "tougher" shield gen because ASM power swords and striking Scorpions could simply run you over 2 mins into the game. In general the goal was/is to "force" people to go towards tech/mid/late game instead of just cheese rushing. Do you think that this should be changed?
You can build an LP [imgur.com] on the center Xel'Naga tower if you position your camera and worker correctly. The tower can't shoot or be shot at but LP doctrines are completely functional and the point can't be captured.
Secondly the turret/gen positioning is a bit dodgy. Many openings rely on threatening the gen with melee squads. While one squad can safely attack the gen half of it is still under the tower's protection, making it an extremely powerful garrison for a setup team like Lootas or Devastators. This would especially be a problem for Eldar who don't have jumper troops or trukks to bridge the gap.
Nice work anyway. I'll try to get a VoD together.
