Description:

An ornithopter is an aircraft which flies by using a flapping motion. After a small proof of concept to see if one could be made in SE, I decided to make this lovely bug. It is very tricky to fly, but rewarding. There are thrusters on each wing that will turn on when the wing is in a downward flapping motion, creating lift. The pistons were added because the wing rotors weren't strong enough to pull the wings down as the thrusters were trying to push it upwards.

This design is modeled after a Zoid concept created by MAETHIUS:

Flying Tips:
- Try not to fly 100m/s because the rotors lock.
- You have to keep constant control over the thruster override. Equilibrium flight is achieved around 60kN of thrust. If you want to fly higher or slow your decent to the ground, you need to increase the override. It is best to stay close to 60kN and only decrease or increase the thrust a little bit.
