There might be a better way to do this, but this at least made sure the expected dice are still hidden and don't get vanished into the void when the mesh fails to load
Click and drag your backstory card to your character sheet.
Be sure it is face up so you can read it.
While holding the card, click and hold the right mouse button to lower the card to the character sheet.
This eliminates the influence of the snap point and you can center the card to your liking.
When you are happy with the location, press the "L" key on your keyboard to lock the card in place.
Viola!
You can hover over the card and press "L" again to unlock the card and as long as you don't pick it up, it will not rotate. I just leave it locked.
