then go into Steam\SteamApps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\mods\[MODNAME]\universe\engine and replace the rendering.ini file there with the one you grabbed from the original game (Nexus The Jupiter Incident\universe\engine\)

to fix it: navigate to the Steam\SteamApps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\universe\engine\ folder and copy the rendering.ini file

ok so it turns out that the rendering.ini file is broken for this mod,

I did download it from the link. That's the error I get after installing the file from moddb

You can't pause the game sadly because of some menu thingy that is missing or something and I have no control over this
