No idea. I've just always spelled it that way and nobody ever corrected me. Google tells me it is a common typo in video games, so maybe since I've been playing so long it rotted my brain lol.

Well - I saw this misspelling in other forums more than 10 years ago, but never found its source.

Initially I thought it was something with the english keyboard-layout, but since I had a few games over time who forced me to use the english layout, too, I now have to consider at least that source as unlikely...

Where did you get it from? ( just curious ;) )

Holy crap. I think I am in an alternate universe. Apparently I've been misreading/spelling that word my whole life. Like I'd see that word and actually see "Turrent" ...Well ♥♥♥♥

A little misunderstanding here:
I meant the spelling ('turrent' instead of 'turret') ... I've seen it in other places earlier, and was just wondering where it came from.

And of course fixed guns on a nearly immaneuverable ship don't make sense... Except if it's an artillery unit of sorts. :)

If you look at the line art from Joans fighting ships you can see the origional Drayman was armed with 5 laser turrents. I just used the two on the main hull though, since to me it alwasy looked like Drayman/Diligent were modular form of the same ship. Silly to add guns to a crogo container.

Where does that "turrents"-trope stem from anyway?
